2 · Database

How to create the database in cPanel
  1. In cPanel open Databases → Manage My Databases (in cPanel 118 and earlier: MySQL® Databases).
  2. Under Create New Database enter a name, e.g. snagbane, and click Create Database. cPanel adds your account name in front, e.g. youraccount_snagbane.
  3. Under Add New User enter a username, click Password Generator, copy the password and click Create User.
  4. Under Add User To Database pick that user and database, click Add, tick ALL PRIVILEGES and click Make Changes.
  5. Enter the full names (with the prefix) and that password above. The host is usually localhost; if the connection fails, ask your hosting provider for the database host.

To change the password later: change it in cPanel (Current Users → Change Password), then put the same password in DB_PASSWORD in the .env file in the SnagBane folder. Or run php artisan snagbane:db-password in the SnagBane folder, which changes both.

3 · Site & administrator

SnagBane starts on the Free plan (up to 25 people). Have a Business or Enterprise licence? Add the key later in Settings → Licence & plan.
